Alana checking out the ambulanceI cannot believe it's already the middle of October. Fall is going to fly by I am afraid. The girls are doing great and we are keeping busy. The first weekend in October we spent in Humboldt. A friend of ours from high school got married and we took the girls to the reception. Alana was so excited to dance. She began with dancing to the dinner music and wanting us to dance with her. Brynn enjoyed the night too. We saw many old high school friends and the girls had a ton of fun dancing.
Last week the Ankeny Fire Station had their open house. Mom, Dad, and I took Alana two years ago when she was 14 months old and she loved it even then, so I knew she would really enjoy it this year. Steve was home this year so he was excited to check it out also. Alana was excited to see Uncle Dave working there too. We had a great time there. You could sit in the fire trucks, ambulances, etc. There were many other activities going on also, but Alana was a little young for some and the lines were really long. She did get in line and learned how to Stop, Drop, and Roll though, and for that she got a sucker. She thought that was pretty fun. Brynn enjoyed her night too especially because Grandma and Grandpa Malo came down to visit the station also, so the girls were happy to see them.
This last weekend was pretty uneventful. Friday night we had friends over and we grilled out and visited. Saturday and Sunday we hung out at home. It was a nice, relaxing weekend.
